Cover Letter

Dear Employer,

As the oldest of four children, I would spend countless hours of my childhood playing school on rainy days, making lesson plans for my siblings at a cardboard desk. As the years went by, I had outgrown my small basement classroom, but my passion for teaching remained. Now, having completed Michigan State University’s graduate program, I am prepared and confident to lead my own classroom.

Although I am a fairly new teacher, I have had much experience in the classroom, working with a wide variety of students and age levels. In and out of the classroom, I see each and every student as an individual, with different needs and unique capabilities. As a teacher, I have the responsibility to acknowledge my students as the exclusive and exceptional individuals they are, and am ready to make any adaptations necessary in order to offer each an education in the most beneficial way possible.

As a teacher and a professional, I believe that the greatest assets I will bring to your school are my dedication, positive attitude, and strong sense of collaboration. I am fully committed to the work that I do, and understand that my working hours will extend the school day so that I am able to provide and prepare everything my students need for success. In addition, I make it an ongoing goal to keep a positive outlook with anything I approach or take part in. Finally, I believe that a sense of community among educators and other individuals in a school is so important to the relationships we build among students and families, and is essential to the work that we do every day. It is through this collaboration that we are able to provide for our students the very best quality education, and model for them what it means to be an active member in their community.

So far in my career, I have been truly blessed with having the privilege and opportunity to teach and inspire individuals of the next generation, and I hope you will consider me to help inspire your students as well.

Sincerely,

Ashley Chamberlain
